LGBTI Pride March 2018
Join the vibrant and inclusive LGBTI Pride March in Rennes-Bretagne on June 16, 2018. The theme this year is "A Family for Everyone" and aims to promote acceptance, diversity, and fight against discrimination.
What is the LGBTI Pride March?
The LGBTI Pride March (also known as "gay pride") in Rennes-Bretagne is both a festive and activist event that raises awareness and advocates for the rights of the LGBTI community and their allies. It provides a safe space for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and genders to come together and celebrate diversity while calling for equality and respect.
Program Highlights
Throughout the week leading up to the March, there are various events and activities that promote LGBTQIA+ rights, including conferences, film screenings, discussions, book readings, and concerts. Attendees can engage, learn, and support the cause before the March.
The March
The March starts at 15:00 from Esplanade Charles de Gaulle and returns to the same location around 18:00. It is a collective display of unity, joy, and solidarity, where participants proudly voice their demands for equality and inclusion.
Noz Pride
After the March, join Noz Pride, the largest LGBTI party in the Grand Ouest. Experience an incredible night of celebration and entertainment at Le Liberté transformed into an exciting dancefloor. Please note that entry is restricted to individuals aged 18 and above.
Our Demands
The collective organizing the Pride March has formulated a platform of demands that includes:
- Ending non-consensual medical interventions on intersex individuals
- Equal access to assisted reproduction without discrimination
- Automatic asylum for LGBTI individuals fleeing persecution
- Recognition of non-biological parents in parental relationships
- Fighting discrimination in adoption judgements
- Regulating ethical gestational surrogacy contracts
- Suspending the return of asylum seekers to their first entry destination in the European Union
- Preventing discrimination based on sexual orientation in healthcare, adoption, and education
- Fighting against harassment, violence, and stigma
- Removing gender identity from psychiatric lists of mental disorders
- Amending legal procedures to allow for easier change of gender marker
- Eliminating administrative gender markers on official documents
- Promoting inclusive education from an early age
